Thrift Store Luck

Abacus and vintage fisher-price toy.

Madeline book for Ruby and a dino for Billy.

I remember this book from when I was little.

I love the illustrations.
Some lovely 70's plates.

A complete sheet set! I had to spend some time looking, but I found every piece.

The Year of the Dog

Happy Chinese New Year! This is the year of the dog, so for myself and my girl Cameo, both 1970 babies and my daughter Olivia (1994), this is our year and it's gonna be good. Check out your Chinese horoscope here.

Mr. Mom

I've started my Chemistry class*. I am there two nights a week from 6:00 to 9:30. That's stressful enough on it's own without worrying about how my husband is going to make it at home without me. This is the man that had to ask me how to turn on the dishwasher a few weeks ago. Not to say that he never cleans the kitchen, he has one or two times, but like my Grandmother, he would rather wash the dishes then use the dishwasher (Huh?!). I have to take partial blame for this. Ever since Billy was born I have stayed home and basically done everything myself. (I'm one of those "I like it done the way I do it" people.)
So as I was coming home from class last night, I was more than a little nervous to find what was waiting for me at home. Let me tell you, he did an awesome job! He made dinner, the kitchen was cleaned (dishes handwashed of course), the babies were bathed and in bed and the house was picked up. I actually got to come home and relax!
I just want to say thank you to my man, who can bring home the bacon and fry it up in a pan! (And you also do a mighty fine job of handwashing that pan.)

(*My last pre-req before I take the entrance exam for nursing school. Yipee!)

Pass the Chronic(What?)cles of Narnia

Can you tell I've just recently figured out how to put links in my posts? I usually just email these kinds of things, but now with this blog I can just put them up here. I ran across this Saturday Night Live clip last night. I don't think they have been that good in recent years, but this was cracking me up!

    Time

My baby boy has started preschool. It just seems like yesterday that he was that little guy in the picture. Now he is a three year old who loves Spiderman and dinosaurs and would eat cereal every night for dinner if I would let him. Time goes so fast. You don't notice in the everyday, but then something happens like this and it blows you away. I should be used to it by now, my big kids will be 10 and 12 this year ( I have a teenage daughter heading my way, YIKES! ) The truth is I don't think you ever get used to it, you just have to remember to stay in the moment.
BOB DYLAN - Forever Young-------------- May God bless and keep you always
May your wishes all come true
May you always do for others
And let others do for you
May you build a ladder to the stars
    And climb on every rung
    May you stay forever young
    Forever young, forever young
    May you stay forever young.
May you grow up to be righteous
May you grow up to be true
May you always know the truth
And see the lights surrounding you
    May you always be courageous
    Stand upright and be strong
    May you stay forever young
    Forever young, forever young
    May you stay forever young.
May your hands always be busy
May your feet always be swift
May you have a strong foundation
When the winds of changes shift
May your heart always be joyful
And may your song always be sung
    May you stay forever young
    Forever young, forever young
    May you stay forever young.
