It was the Third of June.... Another Sleepy Dusty Delta Day
Does anyone remember what today is?
It's the day Billie Joe McAllister jumped off the Tallahatchee Bridge.

That was the worst movie from a song ever made. But somehow, I loves it.
you're funny miss marta! the things that occupy your mind. that's why i love you so!
Yes, you are funny. :)
And, hey, I like the new digs!
OOOHHH, BOOO HOOO! WHY DID YOU REMIND ME OF THIS!? Whenver I think of that song, and Robbie Benson...excuse me, while I have a good long cry.
*awesome* picture.
I'm not familiar with the tale you've mentioned. ?
still. that picture. woooh.
can I please look like that, ever?
okay...I agree with Cameo...and love you all the more...
you are truly a font of the most interestingly random stuff! I think I am glad I don't know the movie...I love the song too much!
OK. I have to admit that I have no idea what this is a reference to...BUT I have to say that I love your new template! Can I ask a dumb question? Is that you and your family?
Mommy on the Verge- What in the hell ever happened to good ol' Robbie Benson. He was like the poor mans Rob Lowe.
And don't cry cause you know....."Billy Joe never had a lick of sense, pass the biscuits please":)
Mommy Off the Record- Oh god no, that's not my family it's actually a postcard from the 60's. I'm kind of into that retro thing.
I'm glad everyone likes the new template. I still need to tweak some things but I think it has a nice Summer look to it.
I'm just glad I didn't screw it all up.
I can't believe that I missed that. Must keep marked on calendar for next year.
It sounds as if I was fortunate enough not to see this movie from the comments. I LOVE your new look BTW!
Movie? MOVIE?! Way to ruin a song. I love that song. Must not see movie.
Songs into movies. That seems so backwards.
I do think your new digs are groovy! It's so hard to keep up with the Joneses when everyone is making their blogs looks so summer-like.
i knew i was being a dumbas*, even as I typed that question. Please excuse my lack of brain cells. I'm trying REALLY hard to grown them back.
Aw, it was a special day and I forgot. I'm sure there's a Hallmark card to commemorate that day. I'll make sure to find it for next year.
Love the new look. Very summery.
I'm with Something Blue ... movies into songs makes no sense to me.
I am loving the new look :)
Duly noted! BTW, I noticed your comments on one of my posts--Yes--the lady on my banner is the Spry Lard Lady! I collect cookbooks and she made me laugh. She reminds me of my Grandmother! Good Eye!
The best thing from that movie besides that sad song was Robby Benson. When I was a little girl I had a mad crush on him. Now I'm like EWWW! But back then...I swooned over him.
And I love your fresh new look!
