Mean Baby

We found this notebook at a gift shop last summer in St. Petersburg called Cherie's. The artist's name is Yoshitomo Nara. My husband picked it up and asked who it looked like. I just smiled. The pissed off expression and a big forehead? Why it looks like our little Miss Ruby Lou! If a stranger gets too close they get this look. I captured her "mad" face the other day. It's very similar to the "get the hell away from me" look. I like babies with attitude.

Are you sure the artist didn't use your daughter as a model for that picture? That's so funny. Love it.

Ha! Too funny. You're right, there's definitely a resemblance. Ruby is adorable, even when she's mad.

You need to sue Mr./Ms. Nara. It is soo obvious he/she used Miss Ruby Lou's sweet self as a model for his/her art. You could make millions! I expect a cut due to the fact that I suggested this very profitable lawsuit.

She's already perfected the eyebrows! With that attitude, I'd like to climb into her mind and find out what's running through it at that moment. Classic!

Wow, so expressive for such a little girl! She's still a cutie

Re: your comment on my blog, as soon as I saw Paula was crying, I turned to my husband and said "Jesus, why doesn't she take a few MORE painkillers". She really needs to get it together.

I like babies with attitude, too. Better angry than anxious, I always say. And I love that she lets strangers know to keep their distance. How cool is that?!

rofl...the similarity is uncanny!

This made me laugh because my daughter's teacher told me today that my daughter has been making mean faces at her teacher when she corrects her or tells her not to do something. I was trying so hard not to laugh because I KNOW that pissy little face she makes (and it kinda looks like that notebook)
